VITAMIN D IS TO HUMANS WHAT SUNLIGHT IS TO PLANTS
The deficiency of Vitamin D3 increases the chances
of catching respiratory infections. Normal Vit D3 level
in humans is more than 20 nmol and less than 100 nmol, while in our population
the average Vit D3 level is 8 for males and 6 for
females.
DOSAGE
The research has also proved that giving bolus doses
(big doses of 100,000 or 200,000 iu in a month) is not
very helpful. It is therefore advised that daily or weekly
doses should be taken to increase your immunity against novel corona or other viruses and bacteria. 1000 iu or 40 mcg of Vit D3
daily is recommended for adults. It can be enhanced up
to 5000 iu without any harm.
NATURAL VITAMIN D
You can take Vit. D from food but an egg’s yolk
contains only 37 iu. Fish, Cod Liver Oil, pure dairy
products, and mushrooms also contain Vit D3. However, if you sit in the morning
sun, without sunscreen, for 15-20 minutes with legs and arms exposed, you may
get up to 3000 iu of Vit D3.
HOW TO TAKE
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that should be
taken with food or with some yogurt, full cream milk, or a piece of cheese.
Take Vit. D and Vit. C to help your body’s immunity
fight Coronavirus. It will reduce the chances of
catching the disease and even if you get infected, the severity of the disease will be far less than those who have weak immunity.
